At the beginning of this month, we were exhibiting at the ap&m Europe expo in Frankfurt. So a few members of our dedicated team as well as our Managing Director, Charlie Parker, and our Founder, Peter Caudell, flew out to Frankfurt to make the most of the event. Now that our team have had a chance to shake off any jet lag and assess the outcomes of the event, it’s the perfect time to talk to them about it.
Over the years, Oakenhurst have attended and exhibited at many different aviation and MRO events and shows, but for some of our team this was the first ap&m expo they’ve been to. For Issadeen (Issy), our Business Development Manager, this was his first opportunity to attend the ap&m expo:
“The ap&m expo certainly beat my expectations. It was a good networking opportunity and a great chance to meet the faces behind the everyday emails. Meet the buyers created a good chance to converse with Airlines directly and gave an opportunity to offer products & services that that they were unaware of. I definitely benefited from the show and had some great conversations with companies all around the globe and would be looking to capitalise from it from a business point of view” said Issy.
Sanja (our MRO & Customs Team Leader), who has attended the ap&m expo before, said that “it is a team building experience as well as everything else, all of us working together and trying to promote our company in the best possible way. It was not as busy as previous years but it was still a good opportunity to meet new people, see old friends, and have face to face meetings with people that I’m in contact with daily. Getting feedback from customers and suppliers, finding out more about them as individuals; it is always good to have a personal touch when in business, one that we cannot have over the phone or in emails.”
Our booth certainly seemed to become more popular once we brought out the drinks and food. In the afternoon of the first day, we had champagne and snacks at our booth that everyone seemed to enjoy. Issy said “Our reception drinks went down a treat, and it was good to share a toast with both our existing customers and potential new ones. Although we ran out of drinks quickly!”
