
The question was asked – how will they deal with composite airframes?
In a previous career, Commercial Executive Tom Griffin spent time at TARMAC in France, parting out an EOL 747. Hugely impressive to see the entire metal fuselage of widebody jets being wire-cut into manageable sections. Alongside the cutters were teams of strippers divided into aircraft zones; galley, seating, avionic LRU’s, engines and gear. Everyone had the same aim, to remove, inspect and recycle as much as technologically possible.
